About Overnight Ghost Hunts
This building was built on the original Bronze Age settlement of Wotton-under-Edge, next to Dyers Brook so named by the Wool Weavers, before it became an inn. Situated on the side of the hill known as The Cloud, above which was a Pagan ritual site, now home to St Mary’s Church. Positioned on the cross-section of Ley Lines, considered to be a motorway of spiritual activity. If walls could speak!
The Ancient ram Inn hasn’t altered much since John Humphries’ sad demise. The winding oak staircases, drooping beams dating back to 1465, ancient cobwebs, flagstone floors, inglenook fireplaces and creaky old floorboards will be sure to heighten or frighten the senses.
The proven paranormal activity has been captured on CCTV and you can experience it too. You’ll never forget that special feeling when it happens to you.

Overnight Ghost Hunts – Event Details
What to expect during your adventure at The Ancient Ram Inn
- Please note that you must be over 18 to attend this event, under 18’s are welcome on our Junior ghost hunts.
- Health and safety rules will be explained with a recommended protection ritual, combined with a Q&A session before you begin.
- Caroline’s experienced guides will show you around this fabulous location.
- You’ll be split into smaller groups to carry out your vigils in some of the world’s most famous haunted rooms.
- You can experiment with ghost-hunting gadgets which will be fully explained by my friendly guides. You can use your own mobile apps, sing, dance, laugh, shout and play music. A vibrant energy during a hunt can often result in a more successful experience.
- You can carry out loan vigils in any of my beautiful spaces. Just ask one of my hosts to accompany you and mention it to them when you arrive.
- There will be a break halfway through, where you can discuss your evidence and compare notes with everyone else with hot drinks supplied. The designated smoking area is situated away from the building.
- Secure parking is available on site.Your feedback in the visitors’ book on dad’s old coffee table and on our Facebook pages/groups is welcomed. CCTV footage of your event might even appear online, if you get some really epic activity.
